Your Personal Data

Victoria Marchant Knits does not collect your personal data.

All purchases are handled by Payhip. Their privacy policy is available here.

As a designer on Payhip, I am able to see:

  • your email address;
  • the items you purchased;
  • the date the purchase was made;
  • your approximate location when the purchase was made;
  • whether you have downloaded each item or not.

I do not use your email address or any other data collected by Payhip and visible to me, except to:

  • Provide updates to patterns you have purchased;
  • Follow up on any queries or issues you raise with me about your purchase.

I download a record of sales data from Payhip. I use this to track which patterns are most popular, as well as log my finances. I do not use your personal data or analyse it in any way.

Contact Form

If you choose to use the Contact Form, you are required to submit your name and email address. This is so that I can reply to your query or message.

As stated on the Contact page, your details will not be stored or used for any other purpose.

Marketing

I send out a newsletter using MailChimp. All subscribers have voluntarily joined and confirmed their email addresses in order to receive emails.

Subscribers to my newsletter receive regular updates when I have new pattern releases, testing calls, promotions, announcements, or other news directly related to my work as a knitting designer.

All subscribers can opt in to specific newsletter segments. This will tailor the kinds of emails they receive from me. These preferences can be managed at any time.

Every email has a link at the bottom to unsubscribe.

I do not copy, download, or otherwise transfer data from MailChimp.

Cookies

There are 2 types of cookies – those which are necessary for a website to work, and those which are optional.

When you first visited the website you will have seen a banner at the bottom of the page asking you to opt in or out of optional cookies. You can use this banner to change your preferences at any time.

Necessary Cookies

  • PHPSESSID – this is used to keep track of your session data while on the website.
  • __cfduid – this is used by CloudFlare to speed up page loading times. (CloudFlare is a web performance and security company used by many web hosts.)
  • cookielawinfo-checkbox-necessary – this cookies stores that you have seen the cookie options banner at the bottom of the page and have agreed to accept necessary cookies. (If you have not clicked the checkbox, the cookie has not been set, and so is not on your computer.)
  • cookielawinfo-checkbox-non-necessary – this cookie stores whether or not you have accepted non-necessary (optional) cookies or not.
  • viewed_cookie_policy – this cookie stores whether or not you have viewed the cookie policy.

Optional Cookies

I use optional cookies to support using Google Analytics. You can read more about that here.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to evaluate my website traffic. This allows me to see how visitors have found my website, which pages they visit, and on which page they leave.

I have enabled ‘Demographics and Interests Reports’, which means Google Analytics will also show me statistics about ages, genders, and interests of visitors to my website.

I cannot identify individuals from any of this data.

I do not download data from Google Analytics. I do not use it for advertising.
